J&R Wedding
[2025]

After 6 years of work, I’ve discovered my most demanding client: myself. Designing for others definitely feels more safe, there’s direction and boundaries (most of the times). Designing for yourself is different. You overthink, change your mind a million times, you question everything. And this time it wasn’t “just a project”, it was our story. I wanted to make sure everything was perfect, so the process became more complex than I expected. And then there was the endless list: the invitations, the menus, the seating plan, a memorial, the vow book. Us designers are not scared of these types of lists, we actually live by them, but this time it hit differently (probably because I also had another list with a million things to tick off). I made different drafts, designed, redesigned, printed, reconsidered until it finally felt right. Somewhere in that process, I realised why I chose this career, and it’s because I love telling stories. When something holds meaning, you’re not just making things pretty, you’re designing a story that will be remembered.
